...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING
FOR CENTRAL PUTNAM COUNTY...

At 757 PM CDT, social media reports indicated flash flooding
continues in Algood and Cookeville. Radar estimates and rain gauge
reports show up to 6.5 inches of rain have fallen in the past few
hours. Although rainfall is now tapering off, flash flooding will
continue for another hour before waters recede.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Cookeville and Algood.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between mile markers 282 and 295.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
