Areas affected...western into middle Tennessee

Concerning...Tornado Watch 76...

Valid 250134Z - 250330Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 76 continues.

SUMMARY...Thunderstorms may continue to pose a risk for damaging
wind gusts and tornadoes in at least a narrow corridor
east-northeast of Jackson into the Greater Nashville area by or
shortly after 11 PM. Trends are being monitored for the possibility
of an additional severe weather watch into portions of middle
Tennessee.

DISCUSSION...A meso low has formed along the baroclinic zone across
western Tennessee (near Jackson at 01Z), in advance of the mesoscale
convective vortex migrate across and east-northeast of the Missouri
Bootheel vicinity. The more intense line of convection to the east
and southeast of the lower/mid-tropospheric circulation continues to
fluctuate in intensity, and probably has been hampered by the weak
instability. However, given the forcing for ascent and the strength
of the environmental wind fields/shear, the risk for damaging wind
gusts and perhaps tornadoes associated with evolving supercell
structures may persist east-northeast of Jackson into the Greater
Nashville area by 04-05Z.
