...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Smith, Jackson,
northwestern Clay, Macon, central Trousdale and northwestern Putnam
Counties through 445 PM CDT...

At 357 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Tompkinsville to 6 miles north of Baxter.
Movement was west at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lafayette, Carthage, Gainesboro, Hartsville, Westmoreland,
Gordonsville, Red Boiling Springs, South Carthage, Whitleyville,
Moss, Bugtussle, Dixon Springs, Pleasant Shade, Granville, Boles and
Cummins Falls State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 251 and 262.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
