The month of June was characterized by generally mild weather.
Temperatures were below normal across a good portion of Middle
Tennessee. Rainfall was generally below normal with the exception
of the Cumberland Plateau.

In Nashville, the average temperature for June was 75.9 degrees.
This was 1.2 degrees below normal. The average high temperature
was 87.3 degrees and the average low temperature was 64.5
degrees. The highest temperature was 97 degrees on the 30th and
the lowest temperature was 54 degrees on the 9th and 13th. There
were 11 days when the temperature reached 90 degrees or greater.

Total rainfall for June was 3.38 inches, which was 0.98 inches
below normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 1 inch spanning
the 19th and 20th. There were 9 days with measurable rainfall, and
8 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 50 mph on the
30th.

In Clarksville, the average temperature for June was 75.1
degrees. This was one-tenth of a degree above normal. The average
high temperature was 87.3 degrees and the average low temperature
was 62.8 degrees. The highest temperature was 100 degrees on the
30th and the lowest temperature was 50 degrees on the 9th. There
were 10 days when the temperature reached 90 degrees or greater.

Total rainfall for June was 1.68 inches, which was 1.97 inches
below normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 0.73 inches
spanning the 18th and 19th. There were 7 days with measurable
rainfall, and 9 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust
was 45 mph on the 30th.

In Crossville, the average temperature for June was 67.4 degrees.
This was 2.8 degrees below normal. The average high temperature
was 78.0 degrees and the average low temperature was 56.7
degrees. The highest temperature was 84 degrees on the 3rd and
30th and the lowest temperature was 46 degrees on the 9th.

Total rainfall for June was 7.27 inches, which was 2.34 inches
above normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 2.40 inches on the
30th. There were 14 days with measurable rainfall, and 10 days
with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 55 mph on the 11th.

The July outlook for Middle Tennessee from the Climate Prediction
Center favors above normal temperatures and above normal rainfall.
