...Climate Summary for April, 2022...

April, 2022 was somewhat wetter than usual across much of Middle
Tennessee, but also a little cooler.

In Nashville, the average temperature for the month was 59.9
degrees, which was 0.9 degrees below normal. The average high
temperature was 71.0 degrees and the average low temperature was
48.7 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 85 degrees
on the 13th and the lowest temperature for April was 35 degrees
on the 2nd.

Monthly rainfall was 6.08 inches, which was 1.36 inches above
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 2.19 inches on the 11th
and 12th. There were 13 days with measurable rainfall, including 8
consecutive days from the 11th through the 18th, and two days
with an inch or more.

There were 7 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 47
mph on the 13th.

In Clarksville, the average temperature for the month was 57.8
degrees, which was 0.6 degrees below normal. The average high
temperature was 69.2 degrees and the average low temperature was
46.4 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 85 degrees
on the 22nd and 23rd and the lowest temperature for April was 32
degrees on the 2nd.

Monthly rainfall was 5.70 inches, which was 1.15 inches above
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 2.30 inches on the 11th
and 12th. There were 15 days with measurable rainfall and three
days with an inch or more.

There were 7 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 53
mph on the 13th.

In Crossville, the average temperature for the month was 54.1
degrees, which was 1.3 degrees below normal. The average high
temperature was 64.8 degrees and the average low temperature was
43.5 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 78 degrees
on the 22nd and the lowest temperature for April was 28 degrees
on the 10th. There were 4 days on which the temperature dipped to
32 degrees or below.

Monthly rainfall was 4.63 inches, which was 0.84 inches below
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 0.89 inches on the 11th
and 12th. There were 14 days with measurable rainfall.

There were 6 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was
54 mph on the 13th.

The May outlook for Middle Tennessee from the Climate Prediction
Center calls for near normal rainfall and normal to slightly above
normal temperatures.
