...Climate Summary for February, 2022...

February, 2022 was much wetter than normal with multiple flooding
events. Temperatures ended up close to normal for the month, but
already most Middle Tennessee locations are well ahead of year-
to-date rainfall normals.

In Nashville, the average temperature for February was 43.6
degrees, which was 0.2 degrees above normal. The average high
temperature was 55.4 degrees and the average low temperature was
31.8 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 72 degrees
on the 11th and the lowest temperature was 20 degrees on the 5th
and 13th. There were 17 days when the temperature dropped to 32
degrees or below.

Rainfall added up to 8.63 inches, which was 4.16 inches above
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 2.11 inches spanning the
22nd and 23rd. There were 10 days with measurable rainfall and 5
days with an inch or more. There was only a trace of snow.

There were two days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was
52 mph on the 17th. There were 3 additional days when the wind
gusted to 40 mph or more.

In Clarksville, the average temperature for February was 40.9
degrees, which was 0.2 degrees above normal. The average high
temperature was 52.7 degrees and the average low temperature was
29.1 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 70
degrees on the 16th and 21st and the lowest temperature was 16
degrees on the 13th. There were 20 days when the temperature
dropped to 32 degrees or below.

Rainfall added up to 5.57 inches, which was 1.70 inches above
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 1.36 inches spanning
the 2nd and 3rd. There were 8 days with measurable rainfall and 4
days with an inch or more.

There were three days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust
was 51 mph on the 17th. There were 2 additional days when the
wind gusted to 40 mph or more.

In Crossville, the average temperature for February was 40.1
degrees, which was 1.3 degrees above normal. The average high
temperature was 51.0 degrees and the average low temperature was
29.2 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 63
degrees on the 11th and the lowest temperature was 17 degrees on
the 5th. There were 18 days when the temperature dropped to 32
degrees or below.

Rainfall added up to 8.93 inches, which was 3.80 inches above
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 2.71 inches spanning
the 22nd and 23rd. There were 11 days with measurable rainfall
and 3 days with an inch or more.

There were two days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was
45 mph on the 17th. There was 1 additional day when the wind
gusted to 40 mph or more.

The March outlook for Middle Tennessee from the Climate
Prediction Center calls for above normal temperatures and above
normal rainfall.
