.In the last 24 hours 3 to 5 inches of rain has fallen across the
area.  Most of this has runoff...however additional showers and
thunderstorms will move across the area brining another couple of
inches of rain.  With already saturated ground it will not take much
rainfall to cause ponding of water and street flooding.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following
  counties, De Kalb, Putnam, Smith and Wilson.

* WHEN...Until 830 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 517 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Smithville, Watertown, Alexandria, Dowelltown, Liberty,
    Center Hill Lake and Edgar Evans State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
