...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following
  counties, Cannon, De Kalb, Putnam, Rutherford, Smith, White and
  Wilson.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 458 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Cookeville, Sparta, Smithville, Watertown, Baxter,
    Gordonsville, Hickman, Alexandria, Dowelltown, Liberty,
    Auburntown, Edgar Evans State Park, Center Hill Lake, Burgess
    Falls State Park, Bakers Crossroads, Hamptons Crossroads and
    Milton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
