...Climate Summary for June, 2022...

June, 2022 was hotter and drier than normal across most of Middle
Tennessee. Nashville experienced its first 100-degree day in
nearly a decade. And rainfall deficits have begun to creep in
across significant portions of Middle Tennessee.

In Nashville, the average temperature was 80.3 degrees, which was
3.2 degrees above normal. The average high temperature was 92.0
degrees and the average low temperature was 68.5 degrees. The
highest temperature was 101 degrees on the 22nd and the lowest
temperature was 57 degrees on the 4th and 20th. There were 19
days when the temperature reached 90 degrees or greater.

Rainfall for June was only 1.30 inches. That's 3.06 inches below
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 0.50 inches on the 6th
and 7th. There were just 5 days with measurable precipitation.
There were 5 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 48
miles an hour on the 17th.

In Clarksville, the average temperature was 77.8 degrees, which
was 2.8 degrees above normal. The average high temperature was
90.3 degrees and the average low temperature was 65.3 degrees.
The highest temperature was 101 degrees on the 22nd and the lowest
temperature was 54 degrees on the 20th. There were 17 days when
the temperature reached 90 degrees or greater.

Rainfall for June was only 0.75 inches. That's 2.90 inches below
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 0.70 inches on the 6th.
There were just 3 days with measurable precipitation. There were
3 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 63 miles an
hour on the 17th.

In Crossville, the average temperature was 71.8 degrees, which
was 1.6 degrees above normal. The average high temperature was
82.9 degrees and the average low temperature was 60.8 degrees.
The highest temperature was 91 degrees on the 15th and the lowest
temperature was 50 degrees on the 19th and 20th. There were 3
days when the temperature reached 90 degrees or greater.

Rainfall for June was 6.06 inches. That's 1.13 inches above
normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 2.34 inches on the 6th
and 7th. There were 8 days with measurable precipitation. There
were 7 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 42
miles an hour on the 17th.

The July outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for Middle
Tennessee calls for above normal temperatures and near normal
rainfall.
