...Patchy Black Ice Formation Possible This Evening Through Mid
Morning Hours Tuesday Across Middle Tennessee...

Because of sunshine being experienced today, most main roads
across mid state region are likely dry. However, on untreated
secondary roads, overpasses, and locations that have been shaded
from sunlight, residual moisture likely remains. With
temperatures across entire mid state region expected to drop
below freezing as evening hours progress, and potentially
remaining that way until at least mid morning hours on Tuesday,
residual moisture refreeze will result in dangerous black ice
formation. Black ice can be very difficult to see and can make
roads very slippery.

Use caution if traveling this evening through mid morning hours
on Tuesday. Slow down, allow extra time to reach your
destination, and do not assume that a any well traveled roadway
will be free of black ice.
