...The National Weather Service in Nashville TN has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Alabama...Tennessee...

  Elk River Near Prospect affecting Giles and Limestone Counties.

For the Elk River...including Prospect...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

The next statement will be issued this evening at 900 PM CST.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS MORNING TO LATE THIS EVENING...
...REPLACES RIVER FLOOD ADVISORY...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Elk River Near Prospect.

* WHEN...From this morning to late this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Water completely floods Veto Rd near the
  Hargrove - Johnson bridge south of Route 273. It may be unsafe to
  pass and motorists should seek an alternate route.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:15 AM CST Thursday the stage was 24.7 feet and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this morning to a crest of 25.6 feet this evening. It
    will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening.
  - Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    25.6 feet on 01/24/2006.
