The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
  Eastern Arkansas
  Northeast Louisiana
  Central and northern Mississippi
  Southwest Tennessee

* Effective this Thursday morning and evening from 1050 AM until
  600 PM CST.

* Primary threats include...
  A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible
  Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
    to 75 mph possible

SUMMARY...Multiple linear bands with embedded supercells are
expected to develop across the Lower Mississippi Valley and
Mid-South regions. Greatest tornado threat should be centered on
portions of northern to central Mississippi in the mid to late
afternoon.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles
east and west of a line from 45 miles west northwest of Jackson TN
to 30 miles southwest of Natchez MS. For a complete depiction of the

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
gusts to 65 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 400. Mean
storm motion vector 23040.
