...Climate Summary for October, 2021...

October was warmer than normal across Middle Tennessee, and also
wetter than normal at most locations. A prolonged warm stretch
persisted for the first half of the month during which there were
also a number of active weather systems.

In Nashville, the average temperature for October was 66.3
degrees, which was 4.6 degrees above normal. The average high
temperature was 76.0 degrees and the average low temperature was
56.5 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 88 degrees
on the 1st and the lowest temperature was 43 degrees on the 17th
and 18th.

Rainfall added up to 4.70 inches. This was 1.34 inches above
normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 1.40 inches spanning the
2nd and 3rd. There were 12 days with measurable rainfall and 2
days with an inch or more. There were 5 days with thunderstorms
and the peak wind gust was 38 mph on the 11th.

In Clarksville, the average temperature for October was 63.6
degrees, which was 4.3 degrees above normal. The average high
temperature was 73.8 degrees and the average low temperature was
53.5 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 86
degrees on the 1st and the lowest temperature was 40 degrees on
the 17th and 18th.

Rainfall added up to 4.09 inches. This was 0.04 inches below
normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 1.08 inches spanning
the 5th and 6th. There were 10 days with measurable rainfall and
3 days with thunderstorms. The peak wind gust was 38 mph on the
11th.

In Crossville, the average temperature for October was 59.6
degrees, which was 3.2 degrees above normal. The average high
temperature was 68.4 degrees and the average low temperature was
50.9 degrees. The highest temperature for the month was 80
degrees on the 1st and the lowest temperature was 33 degrees on
the 27th.

Rainfall added up to 4.64 inches. This was 1.50 inches above
normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 2.59 inches spanning
the 6th and 7th. There were 12 days with measurable rainfall and 2
days with thunderstorms. The peak wind gust was 41 mph on the
6th.

The Middle Tennessee outlook for November from the Climate
Prediction Center calls for near normal temperatures and near
normal rainfall.
