...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM CDT EARLY THIS
MORNING FOR CLAY, JACKSON, MACON, NORTHWESTERN PUTNAM, SMITH,
NORTHEASTERN SUMNER, TROUSDALE AND NORTHEASTERN WILSON COUNTIES...

At 133 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Doppler radar.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
         drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Lafayette, Carthage, Celina, Gainesboro, Hartsville, Westmoreland,
  Gordonsville, Red Boiling Springs, Hickman, South Carthage,
  Alexandria, Pleasant Shade, Granville, Dixon Springs,
  Whitleyville, Moss and Cummins Falls State Park.

Areas of concern include the Carthage area, Peyton Creek including
Pleasant Shade, Round Lick Creek, Defeated Creek including areas
near Defeated, and Mulherrin Creek including New Middleton and
Gordonsville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
