...Climate Summary for February, 2021...

February was several degrees colder than normal, and with a
significant cold spell and winter weather event spread across
several days.

In Nashville, the average temperature was 38.4 degrees. This was
3.3 degrees below normal. The average high temperature was 47.0
degrees and the average low temperature was 29.9 degrees. The
warmest temperature was 75 degrees on the 24th and 28th, and the
coldest temperature was 11 degrees on the 16th. There were 18 days
when the temperature dropped to 32 degrees or below, and the
temperature remained entirely below freezing for 7 consecutive
days, from the 12th through the 18th.

Monthly precipitation totaled 4.81 inches. This was 0.87 inches
above normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 1.67 inches on the
26th and 27th. Measurable precipitation occurred on 14 days. There
were also 5.2 inches of snowfall. Measurable snowfall occurred on
5 days throughout the month.

There were 3 days with thunderstorms, and the fastest wind gust
was 42 mph on the 4th.

In Crossville, the average temperature was 36.9 degrees. This was
2.4 degrees below normal. The average high temperature was 45.0
degrees and the average low temperature was 28.8 degrees. The
warmest temperature was 69 degrees on the 28th, and the coldest
temperature was 11 degrees on the 16th and 17th. There were 19
days when the temperature dropped to 32 degrees or below.

Monthly precipitation totaled 4.17 inches. This was 0.29 inches
below normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 0.75 inches on
the 26th and 27th. Measurable precipitation occurred on 12 days.

The fastest wind gust was 37 mph on the 4th and 5th.

In Clarksville, the average temperature was 34.2 degrees. This
was 5.4 degrees below normal. The average high temperature was
42.2 degrees and the average low temperature was 26.1 degrees.
The warmest temperature was 71 degrees on the 28th, and the
coldest temperature was 5 degrees on the 16th. There were 21 days
when the temperature dropped to 32 degrees or below, and the
temperature remained entirely at or below freezing for 9
consecutive days, from the 11th through the 19th.

Monthly precipitation totaled 4.57 inches. This was 0.40 inches
above normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 2.44 inches on
the 28th. Measurable precipitation occurred on 12 days.

There were 2 days with thunderstorms, and the fastest wind gust
was 38 mph on the 4th and 24th.

The March outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for Middle
Tennessee calls for above normal temperatures and above normal
precipitation.
