...Light Snow Accumulations Possible Tonight...

Precipitation will begin later this afternoon as rain but will
change over to snow during the evening and overnight hours. The
Cumberland Plateau will see higher snow potential of 1 to 2
inches, and even locally higher amounts possible. Areas near the
Cumberland Plateau may see around an inch by early Sunday morning.
To the west of the Plateau, but east of interstates 65 and 24,
snowfall amounts of up to 1/2 inch will be possible. For the
remainder of the mid state, only trace amounts.

Temperatures by Sunday morning will range from the mid 20s
northwest to near 30 elsewhere. Road conditions across mainly the
eastern portions of the mid state could become hazardous,
particularly along the Plateau.

The snow will taper off to flurries before ending Sunday morning.
Conditions should improve thereafter as high temperatures on
Sunday will climb above freezing, reaching the mid 30s to lower
40s in the afternoon.
