...Climate Summary for July, 2021...

The month of July was relatively mild across Middle Tennessee,
with more rainfall than normal and temperatures hovering near
seasonal values.

In Nashville, the average temperature in July was 81.1 degrees,
which was 0.4 degrees above normal. The average high temperature
was 90.7 degrees and the average low temperature was 71.5 degrees.
The highest temperature was 97 degrees on the 25th and the lowest
temperature was 61 degrees on the 3rd and 4th. There were 21 days
when the temperature reached 90 degrees or greater.

Rainfall for July added up to 8.74 inches, which was more than
double the normal value of 4.16 inches. The greatest 24-hour
rainfall was 3.13 inches on the 31st. Another 2.50 inches of rain
occurred on the 18th. There were a total of 9 days with
measurable rainfall and 3 days with an inch or more.

There were 10 days with thunderstorms and the fastest wind gust
was 42 mph on the 31st.

In Clarksville, the average temperature in July was 78.2 degrees,
which equaled the normal value for the month. The average high
temperature was 87.6 degrees and the average low temperature was
68.8 degrees. The highest temperature was 94 degrees on the 28th
and the lowest temperature was 58 degrees on the 3rd. There were
11 days when the temperature reached 90 degrees or greater.

Rainfall for July added up to 4.03 inches, which was 0.29 inches
above normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 1.81 inches on
the 10th and 11th. There were a total of 11 days with measurable
rainfall.

There were 10 days with thunderstorms and the fastest wind gust
was 36 mph on the 25th.

In Crossville, the average temperature in July was 73.1 degrees,
which was 0.7 degrees below normal. The average high temperature
was 81.7 degrees and the average low temperature was 64.5
degrees. The highest temperature was 88 degrees on the 27th and
28th and the lowest temperature was 52 degrees on the 3rd.

Rainfall for July added up to 8.19 inches, which was 2.73 inches
above normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 2.85 inches on
the 18th and 19th. There were a total of 13 days with measurable
rainfall and 3 days with an inch or more.

There were 13 days with thunderstorms and the fastest wind gust
was 31 mph on the 26th.

The August outlook for Middle Tennessee from the Climate
Prediction Center calls for near normal temperatures and above
normal rainfall.
