Survey Summary:
The tornado touched down on Box Road just off of Blooming Grove
Road where damage to several farm buildings occurred. The tornado
continued northeast and damaged many large trees and tree branches
before lifting near the intersection of Richardson Road and Revilo
Road. Additional damage was reported on a farm near that intersection
that included barn and roof damage before the tornado lifted.


.Straight-line Winds between 75mph-95mph in Lawrence and Giles County...

Survey Summary:
Widespread straight-line wind damage was observed across the
southern half of Lawrence and Giles Counties in addition to the
tornado mentioned above. Numerous trees were uprooted or snapped
as well as several outbuildings and barns damaged across this area
due to a very strong rear-flank downdraft.  The strongest winds/most
significant damage was observed on Gunter Ridge Road (Giles County)
where dozens of large hardwoods were uprooted and snapped.


EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the
following categories:

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 mph
EF4...Violent...166 to 200 mph
EF5...Violent...>200 mph
