The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern De Kalb County in Middle Tennessee...
  White County in Middle Tennessee...
  Southwestern Putnam County in Middle Tennessee...

* Until 445 PM CDT.

* At 408 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Baxter, or 9
  miles west of Cookeville, moving southeast at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Cookeville, Sparta, Baxter, Doyle, Hamptons Crossroads, Bakers
  Crossroads and Burgess Falls State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 270 and 288.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground
lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
