SOUTHEASTERN JACKSON AND NORTH CENTRAL PUTNAM COUNTIES UNTIL 545 PM
CDT...

At 524 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Algood, or 8 miles north of Cookeville, moving northeast at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph, frequent cloud to ground lightning
strikes, and brief heavy rainfall will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Cookeville, Algood, Baxter, Rickman and Cummins Falls State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 near mile marker 281.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Brief heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized minor flooding. Some minor flooding possible due to
rainfall and drainage into the Cummins Falls State Park basin.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
