Advisory: Tornado Siren Testing Today

Testing of the Upgraded Polygonal Alerting Tornado System will cause sirens
to sound today.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 14, 2019) – On Tuesday, October 15, 2019 the
Metro Office of Emergency Management will test Davidson County’s tornado
siren system in conjunction with Metro Information Technology Services and
Federal Signal and Commtech Radio.

The test will begin at noon and last for approximately 60 seconds. This
test is outside of the regularly scheduled Tornado Siren testing, which is
usually conducted at noon on the 1st Saturday of each month.

If you hear a three-minute tone, tune into local media or radio to ensure
there are no tornado warnings.
