...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHERN JACKSON AND NORTHWESTERN
PUTNAM COUNTIES UNTIL 730 PM CDT...

At 700 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles east of Gordonsville, or 9 miles southeast of Carthage, moving
east at 35 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Cookeville, Gainesboro, Algood, Baxter and Cummins Falls State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 275 and 296.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Heavy downpours will also occur.
