A NWS storm survey determined an EF0 tornado touched down in far
southern Montgomery County along Ryes Chapel Road and moved
northeast before lifting east of Watkins Ford Road. A few trees
and a carport were blown down, and some homes suffered roof
damage. Video of the tornado was shared on social media.

EF Scale:  The Enhanced Fujita Scale Classifies Tornadoes into
the following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 MPH
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 MPH
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 MPH
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 MPH
EF4...Violent...166 To 200 MPH
EF5...Violent...>200 MPH

Location:                 Thompson's Station, north Spring Hill

A NWS storm survey determined that widespread straight-line winds
of 60 to 70 mph with pockets of higher winds reaching 80 to 85
mph affected the Thompson's Station and northern Spring Hill
areas. Numerous trees were snapped and uprooted, power poles were
blown down, and minor roof and exterior damage occurred to some
buildings including Summit High School.
