...November, 2019 was wetter and cooler than normal...

November, 2019 had some of everything: warmth and cold, rain and
snow. Overall, the average high temperature at Nashville was 57.8
degrees with an average low of 34.3. This gives a monthly mean
temperature of 46.1 degrees, which is 3.8 degrees below normal.
This is despite the fact that the final 12 days of the month were
relatively warm. The highest temperature observed was 74 degrees
on the 6th and the lowest temperature for the month was 17 degrees
on the 13th.

Monthly precipitation added up to 5.39 inches, which was 1.08
inches above normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 1.47 inches
on the final day of the month. Measurable precipitation occurred
on 8 days, and there was one day with thunderstorms (30th). An
unusually early snowfall of 0.4 inches took place on the 11th.

The highest wind gust was 46 mph on the 27th. There were 12 days
during which freezing temperatures were observed.

At Crossville, the departure from normal was even greater. The
average high temperature was 54.4 degrees with an average low of
32.1. This gives a monthly mean of 43.3 degrees, which was 4.2
degrees below normal. The highest temperature observed was 68
degrees on the 6th and the lowest temperature for the month was 13
degrees on the 13th.

Monthly precipitation was 5.11 inches, but that's just 0.01 inches
above normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 1.68 inches, also
on the 30th. Measurable rainfall occurred on 9 days, and there
were two days with thunderstorms. The highest wind gust was 41 mph
on the 27th. And there were 16 days with freezing temperatures.

Finally, Clarksville experienced the greatest extremes during
November out of our 3 ASOS stations. The average high for the
month was 54.7 degrees and the average low was 31.2. This gives a
monthly mean temperature of 43.0 degrees, which was 5.5 degrees
below normal. The highest temperature for the month was 68 degrees
on the 10th and the lowest temperature was 9 degrees on the 13th.

Monthly precipitation added up to 5.98 inches, which was 1.40
inches above normal. The greatest 24 hour rainfall was 1.95 inches
on the 22nd. Measurable rainfall occurred on 11 days and there
was one day with thunderstorms (30th). The highest wind gust was
47 mph on the 27th. There were 18 days with freezing temperatures.

The outlook for the month of December calls for above normal
temperatures and above normal rainfall across all of Middle
Tennessee.
