...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM CDT FOR
PUTNAM COUNTY...

At 1138 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that rainfall was occuring
across eastern portions of Putnam County. Rainfall looks to have
ended across eastern portions of the county. Over the last three
hours, doppler radar estimates that anywhere from around a half of
an inch of rainfall has occurred across western portions of the
county with one up to around two inches occuring across eastern
parts of the county, mainly east of Cookeville. This area of
rainfall across eastern portions of the county is moving to the east
northeast between 20 and 25 mph. This area of showers could produce
an additional one half up to localized two inches across far
northeast portions of the county over the next hour or so with
already saturated ground conditions.
Even as these areas continue to move east northeast and rainfall
eventually ends, the flooding threat will still continue as runoff
from rainfall will likely continue.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 270 and 304.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
