The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
  De Kalb County in Middle Tennessee...
  Northwestern White County in Middle Tennessee...
  Southwestern Putnam County in Middle Tennessee...

* Until 300 PM CDT.

* At 1253 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported flooding of low
  lying areas around Cookeville. Doppler radar estimates 1 to 2
  inches of rain has fallen across the advisory area so far today,
  with light to moderate rain continuing. Minor flooding is expected
  to continue along roadways, low lying areas, creeks and streams
  for the next few hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Cookeville, Smithville, Algood, Baxter, Dowelltown, Liberty, Center
  Hill Lake, Hamptons Crossroads, Bakers Crossroads, Burgess Falls
  State Park and Edgar Evans State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 268 and 295.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
