The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Cumberland County in Middle Tennessee...
  Northeastern Van Buren County in Middle Tennessee...
  White County in Middle Tennessee...
  Southwestern Putnam County in Middle Tennessee...

* Until 1045 AM CDT.

* At 1016 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Baxter to near Sparta, moving east at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Cookeville, Sparta, Baxter, Doyle, Hamptons Crossroads, Bakers
  Crossroads, Indian Rock Lake, Virgin Falls State Natural Area and
  Burgess Falls State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 near mile marker 268, and between mile
markers 271 and 291.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground
lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
