Flood Watch
National Weather Service Nashville TN
312 PM CDT Mon May 28 2018

...Periods of Heavy Rainfall Are Expected Tuesday into Tuesday
Night Across Middle Tennessee...

.The remnants of Subtropical Storm Alberto are expected to move
across the Mid-State on Tuesday and Tuesday night, producing
average rainfall amounts of one to three inches. Some locally
higher amounts, perhaps to four inches or more, are also
possible. Right now, it looks like the center of low pressure will
track across western Middle Tennessee, with the swath of heaviest
rainfall expected to occur near the Interstate 65 corridor,
including the Nashville Metro area.

One of the main problems associated with tropical weather systems
is the likelihood for heavy showers to train over the same area.
As a result, heavy rainfall can accumulate quickly and lead to the
possibility of flash flooding. In addition, since it is difficult
to know exactly where the heaviest rain bands will set up, it's
possible that some places outside of the I-65 corridor could also
see high rain totals of 3 inches or more. As a result, the Flood
Watch covers all of Middle Tennessee.
