The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a
* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for...
Northeastern Davidson County in Middle Tennessee...
Southern Sumner County in Middle Tennessee...
Northwestern Wilson County in Middle Tennessee...
* Until 830 AM CDT.
* At 637 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding. Overflowing poor
drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gallatin, Lebanon, Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, Goodlettsville,
Lakewood, Old Hickory, Hermitage, Belinda City, Rural Hill, Percy
Priest Lake and Bledsoe Creek State Park.
Additional rainfall of over 1 inch is expected over the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between mile markers 216 and 236.
Interstate 840 near mile marker 76.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
