Areas affected...Western Kentucky...Western Tennessee...northern
Mississippi

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 196...

Valid 212244Z - 220045Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 196
continues.

SUMMARY...Storms will remain capable of isolated severe wind gusts,
particularly in southern portions of WW 196.

DISCUSSION...Recent KPAH radar imagery has shown a few storms
interacting with one another leading to some intensification. A few
wind reports have been noted in western Kentucky. Should other
mergers occur, brief intensification of storms will remain possible
with strong to isolated severe wind gusts being the primary threat.
Farther south, effective deep-layer shear of 30-40 kts and 1000-1500
J/kg will lead to a greater threat of severe wind gusts and isolated
severe hail. As storms progress east, they will encounter a less
favorable environment as the boundary layer cools. A downstream WW
is not anticipated; however, isolated strong wind gusts may persist
east of WW 196.
