...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTH CENTRAL SMITH COUNTY UNTIL
645 PM CDT...

At 612 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Gordonsville, or 11 miles south of Carthage. This storm was nearly
stationary.

Dime size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Smith
County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
