..A Period of Rain...Freezing Rain...or Sleet is possible Sunday
night into early Monday morning...

Although Saturday night and most of Sunday is expected to be dry,
a wintry mix, consisting of rain, freezing rain and sleet, is
forecast to develop by Sunday evening, extending into early
Monday. Any ice accumulations are expected to be relatively light.
Amounts should average less than a tenth of an inch, with the
best chance of accumulation across the Cumberland Plateau region.
It is possible that some travel problems could develop, especially
on bridges and overpasses, before temperatures warm sufficiently
to cause the precipitation to change to all rain.

Right now, it looks like the most likely time for freezing rain
or sleet over western areas, including the Nashville Metro
area, will be Sunday night, between 6pm and midnight. This could
linger longer into the early morning hours for the center
part...including the Nashville Metro area. After that,
temperatures west of Interstate 65 should warm enough to cause
precipitation to change to all rain. Meanwhile, folks in the Upper
Cumberland, where cold temperatures will last longer, could see
freezing rain or sleet linger into the morning commute on Monday.

Since this potential winter weather event is still 24 to 36 hours
away, the forecast is uncertain and subject to change. Listen to
a reliable source of weather information over the weekend to get
the latest forecast updates.
