The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  Northern Alabama
  Northern Mississippi
  Western and middle Tennessee

* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 710 PM
  until 100 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
  Scattered large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Clusters and bands of storms along and ahead of a cold
front will likely consolidate into more of a squall line through
late evening, with the primary threat for damaging winds.  A tornado
or two will be possible with lingering pre-frontal supercells, or
circulations embedded within the developing line, while the
strongest storms this evening could still produce isolated large
hail.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 100
statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles north northeast
of Nashville TN to 30 miles south southwest of Tupelo MS. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
