Areas affected...western Kentucky

Concerning...Tornado Watch 513...

Valid 060259Z - 060430Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 513 continues.

SUMMARY...A local extension of Tornado Watch 513 may be needed for
some counties in western Kentucky, as storms move in from the
northwest ahead of a cold front. The severe weather threat is
expected to wane after the scheduled expiration of the watch at
0400Z.

DISCUSSION...The northern end of the line segment entering western
Kentucky is surging eastward, posing a damaging wind threat. These
storms will continue to push east-southeastward, where the
environment is still supportive of severe-weather potential, despite
declining instability. A local extension of the watch may be needed
to account for the severe weather threat from these storms through
0400Z.
