...NWS Damage Survey for March 1, 2017 Tornado Event - Update #2...

...Two additional EF1 tornadoes confirmed in Putnam County...

...Straight line wind damage determined in Dickson and Smith
Counties...

.UPDATE...

Storm survey crews have determined two additional EF1 tornadoes
touched down in Putnam County from the severe storms that
affected Middle Tennessee on Wednesday morning March 1st.

In addition, storm survey crews found that wind damage in Dickson
County near Charlotte around Creekwood High School, as well as
across southern Smith County, was straight line wind damage.

A total of 5 tornadoes, all rated EF1, have been confirmed so far
from the March 1, 2017 severe storms:

Tornado #1 - EF1 - Franklin/Cool Springs/Brentwood - Williamson County
Tornado #2 - EF1 - Antioch - Davidson/Rutherford County
Tornado #3 - EF1 - near Watertown - Wilson County
Tornado #4 - EF1 - near Baxter - Putnam County
Tornado #5 - EF1 - east of Monterey - Putnam County

More details on the tornadoes and straight line wind damage will
be released later today.

EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale Classifies Tornadoes into the
following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 MPH
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 MPH
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 MPH
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 MPH
EF4...Violent...166 To 200 MPH
EF5...Violent...>200 MPH
