...January was much warmer than normal in Nashville...

The average temperature for January in Nashville was 47.0 degrees,
which was 9.3 degrees above normal. That makes this January tied
with 1937 and 1933 as the 5th warmest January on record. The
warmest average temperature for the month of January was 52.4
degrees in 1880. Weather records in Nashville date back to 1870.
In spite of the warm average temperatures there were no daily
records broken. The highest temperature reached was 72 degrees on
the 16th. The coldest temperatures was 8 degrees and occurred on
the 8th.

The total amount of precipitation in January at Nashville was 3.34
inches. This was 0.41 inches below the normal amount of 3.75
inches. The greatest 24-hour precipitation was 1.26 inches on the
24th of December.

The average monthly wind speed was 8.4 miles per hour. The peak
wind gust was 41 miles per hour on the 10th.

0.4 inches of snow were reported on January 6th. Sleet was
reported on the 29th accumulating to only a trace amount.

the second warmest January since Crossville began keeping records

the average temperature for the month was 45.6 degrees. The
highest daily temperature for the month was 64 on the 14th and
15th. The lowest temperature was 1 degree on the 8th.
