...Warmer than Normal March in Nashville...

March was warmer than normal in Nashville. The average
temperature was 53.5 degrees which is 3.5 degrees above the
normal temperature for the month. The average high was 65.1
degrees and the average low was 41.9 degrees. The warmest
temperature of the month was 84 degrees on the 20th. This tied the
highest recorded temperature for that day, which was set in 2012.
The coldest temperature Nashville reported was 21 degrees on the
16th. There were 8 days when temperatures dropped below freezing.
In comparison, Nashville only dropped below freezing 6 times in
the month of February.

The total amount of precipitation for the month was very close to
normal. Nashville recorded 4.02 inches of precipitation, which is
0.09 inches below the normal amount of 4.11 inches. The highest
amount of rainfall in a 24 hour period was 0.84 inches and fell on
March 9th. On the 11th, brief snow showers dropped 1.5 inches of
snow in Nashville. This was the only recorded snowfall for the
month.

The average monthly wind speed was 9.1 mph. The peak wind gust was
45 mph out of the northwest on the 21st.

Thunderstorms were reported 9 days of the month.

Fog was reported 16 days, with dense fog 1 day.

...Wetter than Normal March in Crossville...

The total amount of precipitation measured at Crossville in March
was 6.7 inches. This is 1.72 inches above normal. The highest
amount of rainfall that fell in a 24 hour period was 1.33 inches
on March 1st. Crossville's wettest March on record was in 1975
when 15.34 inches of precipitation fell. Crossville's climate
records date back to 1954.

The average monthly temperature was 47.6 which is 0.4 degrees
above normal. The highest temperature recorded this March was 78
degrees on the 21st. This broke the daily record of 77 degrees
that was set in 2012. The high temperature on March 29th reached
77 degrees to tie the old daily record of 77, which was also set
in 2012. The coldest temperature recorded this March was 15
degrees on the 16th.

The average wind speed for the month was 7.6 miles per hour. The
peak wind gust of 42 miles per hour occurred on two days. On the
1st the gust was out of the WNW, on the 30th the 42 mile per hour
gust was out of the SSE.

There were 7 days when thunderstorms were reported.

There were 18 days of fog and 4 days of dense fog.

...Slightly Warmer and Wetter than Normal March in Clarksville...

The average temperature in March in Clarksville was 50.5 degrees.
This is 1.7 degrees above normal. The average high was 62.1 and
the average low was 38.9 degrees. The highest temperature reached
during the month was 83 degrees on the 20th. The lowest
temperature was 18 degrees and was recorded on the 15th and 16th.

5.76 inches of precipitation fell in Clarksville, which is 1.69
inches above normal. The greatest 24-hour precipitation was 1.49
inches on March 7th.

The average monthly wind speed was 8.9 miles per hour. The peak
wind gust was 62 miles per hour on the 1st. This was associated
with severe storms that moved through the area on the morning of
the 1st.

There were 8 days with thunderstorms.

There were 15 days with fog and 5 days with dense fog.
