...A WINTER STORM WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR AREAS AROUND AND NORTH
OF INTERSTATE 40...

...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR AREAS SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 40...

.A STRONG UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BRING PLENTY OF
RAIN THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT FOLLOWED BY MIXED PRECIPITATION AND
FINALLY SNOW LATER IN THE DAY WEDNESDAY. AS THE COLD FRONT PASSES
OVERNIGHT INTO THE DAY WEDNESDAY...PRECIPITATION WILL SWITCH FROM
RAIN...TO A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN...TO SLEET AND SNOW DURING THE
LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING HOURS...AND FINALLY TO ALL SNOW
FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST OVERNIGHT. SNOWFALL AND SLEET
ACCUMULATIONS MAY BE BETWEEN 2 TO 5 INCHES...WITH FREEZING RAIN
CAUSING ICE ACCUMULATION AROUND A TENTH OF AN INCH AS WELL.

MAJOR TRAVEL IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP WEDNESDAY EVENING AS
THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION SPREADS OVER THE AREA. IN FACT...MAJOR
TRAVEL IMPACTS WILL LIKELY LAST ALL THE WAY INTO FRIDAY AFTERNOON
SINCE TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW THE FREEZING MARK
THURSDAY AND MUCH OF FRIDAY. LOW TEMPERATURES IN MANY AREAS FRIDAY

  AMOUNTS CLOSER TO THE KENTUCKY STATE LINE AND LOWEST AMOUNTS
