...A WINTRY MIX IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE MID STATE TONIGHT
AND LINGER INTO MONDAY...

...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHWESTERN COUNTIES
FROM 10 PM CST TONIGHT UNTIL 10 AM CST MONDAY...

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE GULF COAST AND
TENNESSEE VALLEY TONIGHT...PRODUCING A WINTRY MIX OVER MUCH OF THE
MID STATE. SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED OVER MAINLY
NORTHERN AND WESTERN PARTS OF THE MID STATE...RANGING FROM AROUND
AN INCH IN THE NORTHWEST...INCLUDING THE CLARKSVILLE AREA...TO A
HALF INCH OR LESS ALONG THE INTERSTATE 40 CORRIDOR. A DUSTING IS
POSSIBLE IN AREAS FURTHER SOUTH.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND SLEET HAS BEEN HOISTED FOR
THE NORTHWEST FROM 10 PM CST TONIGHT TO 10 AM CST MONDAY MORNING.
THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CLARKSVILLE...DOVER...DICKSON
...ASHLAND CITY...AND SPRINGFIELD. RAIN MAY BEGIN TO CHANGE OVER
TO A MIX OF SNOW AND SLEET AS EARLY AS THIS EVENING IN THOSE
AREAS...WITH TEMPERATURES FALLING INTO THE LOWER 30S. TRAVEL
PROBLEMS WILL LIKELY DEVELOP...ESPECIALLY AS THE NIGHT WEARS ON AND
TEMPERATURES BOTTOM OUT IN THE UPPER 20S TOWARD SUNRISE.

THE TIME OF GREATEST LIKELIHOOD FOR SNOW AND SLEET ALONG THE
INTERSTATE 40 CORRIDOR...INCLUDING THE NASHVILLE METRO AREA...WILL
BE LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY MONDAY...INCLUDING RUSH HOUR. ALTHOUGH
THE BULK OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL NOT LAST THAT LONG...TEMPERATURES
WILL BE HOVERING AROUND THE FREEZING MARK...AND SOME SLICK SPOTS
MAY DEVELOP ON AREA ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY ALONG BRIDGES AND
OVERPASSES. FOLKS SHOULD PLAN ON POSSIBLE TRAVEL DELAYS DURING
RUSH HOUR EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

ALL TRAVEL PROBLEMS IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE ARE EXPECTED TO IMPROVE
QUICKLY BEFORE LUNCHTIME MONDAY AS THIS STORM SYSTEM MOVES AWAY.
TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING QUICKLY...AND BRISK
NORTHWEST WINDS WILL HELP DRY THE ROADS.

HOWEVER...SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS WILL LIKELY LINGER ALONG THE
CUMBERLAND PLATEAU MONDAY EVENING...AS TEMPERATURES FALL OUT OF
THE MIDDLE 30S AND INTO THE 20S. SOME ROADS ALONG THE CUMBERLAND
PLATEAU COULD BECOME SLIPPERY BEFORE THE SNOW SHOWERS TAPER OFF
LATER IN THE NIGHT.

PLEASE STAY WEATHER AWARE THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...AS THIS
SNOWFALL HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CREATE SOME TRAVEL HEADACHES.
