...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE, TN HAS ISSUED A FLOOD ADVISORY FOR
THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...

  PINEY RIVER NEAR VERNON AFFECTING HICKMAN COUNTY

. SEVERAL HOURS OF RAINFALL HAVE CAUSED THE PINEY RIVER NEAR VERNON TO RISE
ABOVE ITS ACTION STAGE. WITH ONLY LIGHT PRECIP ACCUMULATION EXPECTED FOR THE
REMAINDER OF THE DAY...WOULD EXPECT THE RIVER TO CREST AND FALL BY THIS
EVENING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* FLOOD STAGE IS 14.0 FEET.
* AT 10.0 FEET...WATER BEGINS TO OVERFLOW THE NATURAL BANKS AND INUNDATES LOW
  LYING AREAS ALONG THE RIVER FROM INTERSTATE 40 TO NEAR PINEWOOD...NUNNELLY...
  AND DOWN TO THE DUCK RIVER.
