...MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF BITTER COLD AND DRY CONDITIONS EXPECTED OVER
NEXT 10 DAYS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE...

THE LAST OF THE RECENT STINT OF COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL BE SEEN TODAY
AS A STRONG SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM CONTINUES TO DOMINATE THE
MID STATE. AS THIS BEGINS TO EXIT THE AREA...WINDS WILL SHIFT TO
SOUTHWESTERLY AND BEGIN A BRIEF WARMING TREND THIS WEEKEND.
HOWEVER...DEWPOINT TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO DROP THROUGHOUT
THE AFTERNOON INTO THE NEGATIVES RESULTING IN VERY LOW HUMIDITIES.
THESE VERY DRY CONDITIONS COUPLED WITH SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 10-20
MPH WILL RESULT IN ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS DURING THE
AFTERNOON HOURS.

BY THE WEEKEND...TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE
MUCH WARMER THAN THE LAST FEW DAYS WITH HIGHS FORECAST IN THE 40S
AND 50S FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY RESPECTIVELY. THIS WILL NOT LAST
LONG HOWEVER AS ANOTHER ARCTIC BLAST ARRIVES MONDAY NIGHT...DROPPING
TEMPERATURES INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS AND WIND CHILLS NEAR ZERO OR
BELOW BY TUESDAY MORNING. THIS COLD AIR WILL LINGER THROUGH
THURSDAY AS TEMPERATURES WILL STRUGGLE TO RISE ABOVE FREEZING
UNTIL THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

INTO THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND...WARMER TEMPERATURES BRIEFLY RETURN
AGAIN BEFORE YET ANOTHER ARCTIC COLD FRONT COME KNOCKING ON
SUNDAY.

DURING THESE ARCTIC BLASTS...TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS TO DEAL WITH
THE COLD WEATHER. ENSURE WATER PIPES ARE PROPERLY PROTECTED FROM
THE COLD AND PETS HAVE ADEQUATE INDOOR SHELTER AND WATER.
ADDITIONALLY...EXPOSURE TO THE COLD CAN RESULT IN FROST BITE AND
COULD POTENTIALLY LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA.
