...SNOW EAST...AND PATCHY BLACK ICE ELSEWHERE WILL CREATE
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS THROUGH TONIGHT...

MANY ROADS ALONG THE UPPER CUMBERLAND WILL LIKELY REMAIN SNOW
COVERED AND HAZARDOUS THROUGH TONIGHT...ESPECIALLY ALONG LESS
TRAVELED SECONDARY ROADS.

BETWEEN INTERSTATE 65 AND THE UPPER CUMBERLAND...WHERE SKIES ARE
EXPECTED TO BE MOSTLY CLOUDY...PATCHY BLACK WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE LESS TRAVELED
SECONDARY ROADS.

BETWEEN INTERSTATE 65 AND THE TENNESSEE RIVER...PATCHY BLACK ICE
WILL PRODUCE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. HOWEVER...SINCE
SUNSHINE IS FORECAST TO BE MOST PLENTIFUL TODAY OVER THAT PART OF
THE MID STATE...CONDITIONS MAY IMPROVE AS THE DAY WEARS ON. SHADED
SPOTS WILL BE MOST LIKELY TO HOLD ONTO PATCHY BLACK ICE THROUGH
TONIGHT.

EVEN THOUGH INTERSTATES AND OTHER PRIMARY ROADS MAY BE ICE
FREE...BE CAREFUL WHEN DRIVING ALONG THE LESS TRAVELED RURAL
HIGHWAYS. BLACK ICE IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT IS HARD TO
SEE.

REPORTS FROM AROUND MIDDLE TENNESSEE INDICATE THAT THE UPPER
CUMBERLAND RECEIVED BETWEEN ONE AND TWO AND A HALF INCHES OF SNOW
SUNDAY NIGHT. MOST OTHER AREAS...WEST OF THE UPPER CUMBERLAND...
RECEIVED ONLY A DUSTING OF ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH...MOSTLY
ON GRASSY AREAS.

GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL PRODUCE BITING WIND CHILLS OF BETWEEN
MINUS TEN AND MINUS FIFTEEN DEGREES FOR THE REST OF TODAY AND
TONIGHT. PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THIS KIND OF WIND AND COLD IS
DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. ENSURE THAT THE
ELDERLY...PETS AND WATER PIPES ARE PROPERLY PROTECTED.
