...A BREEZY AND WARM DAY EXPECTED ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE ON
THURSDAY...
...A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH MIDDLE TENNESSEE
THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING BRINGING WITH IT THE POTENTIAL
OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS...

AS A WARM FRONT MOVES NORTH OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE OVERNIGHT AND A
SURFACE LOW DEVELOPS ACROSS THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY
ON THURSDAY MORNING IN ASSOCIATION WITH A STRONG COLD FRONT...
THIS WILL PLACE MIDDLE TENNESSEE IN THE BROAD WARM SECTOR OF
THIS DEVELOPING WEATHER SYSTEM. THIS WILL ALLOW SUSTAINED WINDS
OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 TO 45 MPH POSSIBLE FROM THE
MID MORNING HRS ON THURSDAY THROUGH AT LEAST MOST OF THURSDAY
EVENING...AND A WIND ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR ALL OF MIDDLE
TENNESSEE THURSDAY THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING. THIS WILL ALSO ALLOW
FOR UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES TO BE EXPERIENCED ACROSS THE
MID STATE ON THURSDAY...WITH HIGHS REACHING INTO THE LOW TO MID
70S ACROSS MOST OF THE MID STATE...UPPER 60S CUMBERLAND PLATEAU
REGION.

AS THE AFTERNOON HOURS PROGRESS...A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH
MIDDLE TENNESSEE AS THE SURFACE LOW MOVES NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE
GREAT LAKES REGION...BRINGING THE CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS TO THE MID STATE. IT IS LIKELY THAT A LINE OF SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL FORM JUST AHEAD AND ALONG THIS FRONTAL PASSAGE
AS IT MOVES ACROSS THE MID STATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
THIS LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...KNOWN AS A SQUALL LINE...
WILL POTENTIALLY BRING WITH IT SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH DAMAGING
STRAIGHT LINE WINDS AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL BEING POSSIBLE.
THERE COULD ALSO BE THE POSSIBILITY OF A FEW EMBEDDED TORNADOES
WITHIN THIS LINE. AREAS ACROSS NORTHWEST MIDDLE TENNESSEE COULD
EXPERIENCE THIS SQUALL LINE AS EARLY AS THE MID AFTERNOON HOURS.
FOR LOCATIONS ALONG THE I-65 CORRIDOR...THIS LINE COULD MOVE
THROUGH DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING
HOURS...AND FOR LOCATIONS EAST OF THE I-65 CORRIDOR...INCLUDING
THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU REGION...THIS LINE COULD MOVE THROUGH
DURING THE LATE EVENING HOURS.

THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINLY INTO ACTUAL TIMING...AND THIS
POTENTIALLY DEVELOPING SEVERE WEATHER SITUATION WILL CONTINUED
TO BE MONITORED. CHECK BACK FOR THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION
AS THIS EVENT TIME APPROACHES. THIS IS ALSO A GOOD TIME TO PREPARE
TO BE SURE THAT YOUR SEVERE WEATHER SAFETY PLAN IS IN PLACE...AND
TO BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO MONITOR THIS POTENTIAL
SEVERE WEATHER SITUATION THROUGH MULTIPLE MEANS. YOU CAN ALSO
VISIT WEATHER.GOV/NASHVILLE FOR THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION.
