...A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE ON
TUESDAY...

ATMOSPHERIC MODELS CONTINUE TO SHOW A STRONG COLD FRONT PUSHING
THROUGH MIDDLE TENNESSEE ON TUESDAY, BRINGING BLUSTERY CONDITIONS,
POSSIBLE SNOW AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS, AND AN ARCTIC AIR MASS THAT
WILL PLUNGE TEMPERATURES WELL INTO THE 20'S.

WINDS ACROSS MUCH OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 30
MPH ON TUESDAY AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES ACROSS THE MID STATE.
GIVEN THE CLOUDS AND COLD TEMPERATURES BEHIND THE FRONT, THIS WILL
CREATE BLUSTERY CONDITIONS AND PLUNGE WIND CHILLS INTO THE 30'S
EVEN DURING THE DAY.

ALSO, SOME SNOW IS POSSIBLE ALONG THE HIGHLAND RIM AND CUMBERLAND
PLATEAU ON TUESDAY. GROUND TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN ABOVE
FREEZING, AND EVEN THE AIR TEMPERATURE WILL LIKELY HOVER JUST
ABOVE FREEZING DURING THE DAY, SO ACCUMULATION ON ROADS AND
PAVEMENT IS NOT LIKELY TO OCCUR.

FINALLY, STRONG HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE UPPER MIDWEST WILL BUILD INTO
MIDDLE TENNESSEE BEHIND THE COLD FRONT, SPREADING A FRIGID ARCTIC
AIR MASS ACROSS THE REGION. TEMPERATURES TUESDAY NIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY NIGHT WILL DROP WELL INTO THE 20'S, WITH WEDNESDAY NIGHT
BEING THE COLDER OF THE TWO.

BY THURSDAY, LOOK FOR WINDS TO SWITCH BACK AROUND TO THE SOUTH AND
BRING WARMER TEMPERATURES TO THE MID STATE IN TIME FOR THE WEEKEND.
