...HEAVY RAIN TO CONTINUE THROUGH MIDDLE TENNESSEE THIS EVENING...

.A LINE OF HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE
THROUGH THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. BRIEF RAINFALL RATES
OF 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL BE COMMON IN THE HEAVIEST SHOWERS...BUT
MOST PLACES CAN EXPECT AMOUNTS OF A QUARTER INCH PER HOUR TO THREE
QUARTERS OF AN INCH PER HOUR. THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL QUICKLY
RUN OFF INTO AREA CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND HIGH FLOWS TO MINOR
FLOODING IS POSSIBLE. TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO THREE INCHES
CAN BE EXPECTED...WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS IN SOME AREAS.

  FENTRESS...GILES...GRUNDY...HICKMAN...HOUSTON...HUMPHREYS...
  JACKSON...LAWRENCE...LEWIS...MACON...MARSHALL...MAURY...
  MONTGOMERY...OVERTON...PERRY...PICKETT...PUTNAM...ROBERTSON...
  RUTHERFORD...SMITH...STEWART...SUMNER...TROUSDALE...VAN

* A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ALONG AN
  APPROACHING COLD FRONT WILL BRING INTENSE RAINFALL RATES AT
  TIMES THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL TOTAL
  ONE TO THREE INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* THIS MUCH RAINFALL WILL LEAD TO RAPID RISES ON SMALLER CREEKS
  AND STREAMS...AS WELL AS PRODUCE ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING IN
  URBAN AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
