...RECORD HEAT IN JUNE AND LACK OF RAINFALL INCREASED THE DROUGHT...

CLARKSVILLE WAS ABOVE NORMAL IN TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE 2012. THE
TEMPERATURE AVERAGED 0.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE MONTH. THE
AVERAGE HIGH WAS 89.6 DEGREES AND THE AVERAGE LOW WAS 61.0
DEGREES.

THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 109 DEGREES ON JUNE 29TH AT THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE OBSERVING SITE AT OUTLAW FIELD. THIS WAS SHORT OF THE
ALL-TIME RECORD HIGH FOR CLARKSVILLE OF 112 DEGREES ON JULY 7TH
1925. THE CLARKSVILLE SEWAGE PLANT REACHED 108 ON JUNE 29TH...BREAKING
THEIR ALL-TIME RECORD OF 106 DEGREES SET IN 2007. THERE WERE 3
DAYS IN JUNE OF TRIPLE DIGIT TEMPERATURES. THERE WERE 16 DAYS OF
90 DEGREES AND ABOVE.

JUNE WAS A VERY DRY MONTH IN CLARKSVILLE WITH ONLY 0.38 INCH OF
RAIN. THIS IS 4.10 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

THERE WERE 4 DAYS WITH THUNDERSTORMS.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED WAS 5.2 MILES AN HOUR. THE FASTEST GUST WAS
43 MILES AN HOUR ON THE 11TH.

FOG OCCURRED ON 9 DAYS.
