AREAS AFFECTED...ERN AL...WRN GA

CONCERNING...TORNADO WATCH 887...

VALID 161533Z - 161730Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 887 CONTINUES.

A BROKEN LINE OF STORMS FROM NRN AL TO THE GULF COAST CONTINUES TO
SHOW AREAS OF ROTATION ON RADAR...AND THE ENVIRONMENT REMAINS
FAVORABLE FOR A FEW TORNADOES. A NEW TORNADO WATCH WILL REPLACE
WATCH 887.

SURFACE ANALYSIS SHOWS A WEAK LOW OVER NRN AL...REFLECTED BY A
RELATIVELY STRONG THUNDERSTORM CURRENTLY OVER MADISON COUNTY AL. W
TO SWLY LOW LEVEL FLOW WILL CONTINUE TO BRING MOISTURE AND
INSTABILITY SLOWLY NWD ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF NERN AL AND INTO NRN
GA AS WELL. THUS...THE NEW TORNADO WATCH WILL LIKELY EXTEND A BIT
FARTHER N THAN THE EXISTING WATCH.

OTHER CELLS ARE MORE ROBUST OVER CNTRL AND SWRN AL...WHERE GREATER
INSTABILITY IS PRESENT. THESE STORMS ARE LIKELY TO HAVE THE GREATEST
TORNADO THREAT AS THEY CONTINUE ENEWD ACROSS AL AND INTO CA...WITH A
BROAD WARM SECTOR IN PLACE WITH AMPLE DEEP LAYER SHEAR AND EFFECTIVE
SRH FOR SUPERCELLS AND A FEW TORNADOES.
