...WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS THIS WEEKEND...

HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT AND SOUTH FLOW WILL KEEP WARM AND HUMID
CONDITIONS ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE TODAY. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM
INTO THE MID 90S WEST OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU TODAY...WITH HEAT
INDICES IN THE 100 AND 105 DEGREE RANGE THIS AFTERNOON. ISOLATED
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED WITH LITTLE RELIEF FROM THE
HEAT.

WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE ON SUNDAY WITH HEAT
INDICES REACHING THE 100 TO 105 DEGREE RANGE IN THE AFTERNOON.
THE COVERAGE OF STORMS IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO SCATTERED ON
SUNDAY.

TO PREVENT HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES...AVOID PROLONGED WORK IN THE SUN
OR IN POORLY VENTILATED AREAS...DRINK PLENTY OF WATER...AND SPEND AS
MUCH TIME AS POSSIBLE IN AN AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENT. AVOID
WORKING OR EXERCISING OUTDOORS DURING THE PEAK HEATING TIMES OF THE
DAY. EACH YEAR...A NUMBER OF FATALITIES OCCUR NATIONWIDE DUE TO
CHILDREN ACCIDENTALLY BEING LEFT IN VEHICLES DURING HOT OR EVEN WARM
WEATHER. NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS UNATTENDED IN A VEHICLE...NOT
EVEN FOR A MINUTE. REMEMBER...BEAT THE HEAT...CHECK THE BACKSEAT.
