...ACCUMULATING SNOWS LIKELY FOR LATE TUESDAY NIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY...

A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IN THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL MOVE
INTO THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY OVERNIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY
MORNING...SPREADING LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS ACROSS THE AREA WITH A FEW
FLURRIES POSSIBLE ACROSS FAR NORTHERN MIDDLE TN. THE PRECIPITATION
WILL THEN FALL AS ALL RAIN BY LATE MORNING ON TUESDAY...BUT SWITCH
BACK TO SNOW LATE TUESDAY NIGHT.

ALL SNOW IS THEN EXPECTED FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY.
SNOW WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF DURING THE DAY WEDNESDAY FROM THE
WEST AS THE LOW PULLS NORTHEASTWARD UP THE EAST COAST.

NO SNOW ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING. HOWEVER
AN ACCUMULATING SNOW OF 1 TO 3 INCHES IS LIKELY LATE TUESDAY
NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. LOCALIZED BANDS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES
OR MORE...ARE NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION WITH THIS EVENT.

SO FAR THIS WINTER SEASON NASHVILLE HAS HAD FOUR SNOW EVENTS WITH
A TOTAL OF 9.3 INCHES OF SNOW. THIS HAS BEEN THE SNOWIEST WINTER
SINCE 15.1 INCHES FELL DURING THE WINTER SEASON OF 2002 AND 2003.
THE SNOWIEST WINTER ON RECORD WAS BACK IN 1959 AND 1960 WHEN 38.5
INCHES OF SNOW FELL.

AS ALWAYS...THERE IS SOME DEGREE OF UNCERTAINTY WITH THE EXACT
TRACK AND INTENSITY OF THIS EVENT. PLEASE STAND BY FOR LATER
UPDATES AND POTENTIAL WATCHES...WARNINGS OR ADVISORIES.
