...SNOW ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE FOR TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL FORM OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO TODAY AND
MOVE NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE GULF COAST ON TUESDAY AND UP THE EAST
COAST ON WEDNESDAY.

AS THE LOW PUSHES MOISTURE NORTHWARD INTO THE AREA...PRECIPITATION
WILL COMMENCE LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.
PRECIPITATION WILL START OFF EARLY TUESDAY MORNING AS A MIX OF
RAIN AND SNOW AND THEN TRANSITION TO ALL RAIN BY LATE MORNING TUESDAY.
RAIN WILL CONTINUE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND THEN TRANSITION BACK TO A
RAIN AND SNOW MIX TUESDAY EVENING. ALL SNOW IS EXPECTED FROM LATE EVENING
AND OVERNIGHT TUESDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY. SNOW WILL BEGIN TO TAPER
OFF ON WEDNESDAY AS THE LOW PULLS NORTHEASTWARD UP THE EAST COAST.

SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS POSSIBLE LATE TUESDAY NIGHT.
AN ADDITIONAL INCH OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE ON WEDNESDAY FOR THE EASTERN
HALF OF THE AREA INCLUDING THE PLATEAU.

SO FAR THIS SEASON WE HAVE HAD FAIRLY HIGH CONFIDENCE ON OUR SNOW
EVENT FORECASTS...BUT PATTERNS HAVE CHANGED...AND CONFIDENCE IS
NOT AS HIGH FOR THIS EVENT AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER...MODEL FORECASTS ARE
BECOMING MORE IN AGREEMENT...BUT TEMPERATURE PROFILES REMAIN IN QUESTION.

SO FAR THIS WINTER SEASON NASHVILLE HAS HAD FOUR SNOW EVENTS WITH
A TOTAL OF 9.3 INCHES OF SNOW.
